I was desperate and hoped the good reviews were correct and the bad ones were wrong- but boy am I sorry. Renting from this company ruined our daughters 1st time ever at Disney- we only had one day in the park and the scooter died on me in line for our very first ride. The battery was dead. I called the office and they were of no assistance and the lady basically said=the only thing they could do is deliver a new one to my hotel. I explained I was out in a park and could not even get it back to the entrance because it was dead. In essence they have no way to provide service to you if you are in a park and have a problem. We spent our whole day chasing down places to plug in just to get enough charge to get it back to the gate. It was a horrible experience and will never rent from them again. Lady tried to blame me for the dead battery and I had to remind her I had only just picked up the scooter and shouldn't it be fully charged when delivered? She finally agreed it should have been charged. Once I got it back to the hotel and charged it was fine but too late- our whole day was ruined. I highly recommend renting directly from Disney parks or using a Disney approved rental like Scooterbug where they can come out and fix any issues. Very very disappointed. No refund offered or anything.
I called 2 companies to rent a scooter for my 71-year old mom so she can enjoy our trips to the Disney theme parks. This company, Yellow Scooters, was so much easier to work with and they were flexible with the schedule plus their rates were very reasonable. My mom was initially scared to rent a scooter because she said that the scooters at the grocery stores were hard for her to control. But I’m so glad that I found this company because we had a great experience! It was totally worth renting the scooter for my mom. She was glad that we rented one. She started using the scooter with very low speed until she got the hang of it. It was actually easy to use. The only thing about the scooter was you need to know to put the gear in neutral when loading into the car and you’ll need help as it was heavy so luckily my brother was with me. I have a Subaru Forester so half of the back seat had to be down for the scooter to fit in the back, which means losing 2 seats for people. Just something to note. Overall, our experience with this company was great. They dropped off and picked up as planned, their rates were reasonable and the scooter served its purpose :)
I hurt my foot literally the day before a visit to Magic Kingdom and had to make the tough call to rent a scooter last minute. Most places weren’t available for a high capacity vehicle but Yellow Scooter had one for me the same morning as my visit. Linda was FANTASTIC. She made the process easy and quick and even helped me learn how to disassemble and reassemble the scooter. I felt confident enough to do it on my own once I got to the park and it made all the difference to my enjoyment and experience. Thank you Linda and thank you Yellow Scooter!
If I could give this company a 1 star I would!! Do not wears your time and ruin your trip by getting a scooter from them!! First I ordered a 4 wheel scooter and because they over sold themselves they gave me a 3 wheel scooter! My mother almost tip over in it because trying to make a bit of a shaper turn. The scooter is also not up to the standard I was expecting to see based on past reviews and their website. The basket I got (extra fee) does not sit right, it is bent, and it also looks like someone welded it back together because it broke at some point. The seat is also extremely unstable and makes you feel like you are going to fall out every time you sit down! On top of all of these while we were at magic kingdom for the Halloween party the scooter died on us with no indication at all that the battery was dead!! The battery light was still green but the scooter would not go!! We ended up having to push it from the middle of Magic Kingdom to the front of the park. Which wasted so much of our time at the party we paid good money to be at and did not get to enjoy as much as we should have!! When I contacted them the first time they offered no solution to any of my concerns and just excuses!! Also I tried to call the morning after the party and got hung up on twice and that is why I am now writing this review!!
I didn't have issue with the attendant controlled wheelchair, it worked fine. My issue is with the unprofessional service To start with, I made reservations online. WHEN you do that, you choose both your delivery time and your pickup time. I chose Sunday at 2 pm and the return for Friday night at 11 pm as we had a character themed dinner planned for our last night in the park. The reservation page let's you choose your return time every 30 minutes until 11:30 pm. My reservation for delivery AND PICKUP were accepted AND SO WAS MY PAYMENT. I later receive a confirmation email saying pickup for Friday was 6pm, which means I had to change my pickup time to the following day at 8 am. An incovience.
As we're traveling down on Saturday, they called that afternoon to say their delivery truck had broken down and would it be possible for us to COME PICK IT UP INSTEAD. What can you do?....we NEEDED this wheelchair for the week. Who knew if I could find one this late from another source? So, we said yes. Then she says, oh, they close at 2 pm so be sure we get there by then! So we arrive at Disney by 12:30 so we can unpack our car so there is room for this huge, heavy wheelchair. The rental place is "only" 11 or 12 miles away--it takes my husband 35 minutes, each way to drive this distance in HEAVY Sunday afternoon traffic. Then once he's back, we realize the $12 extra drink holder is NOT on the chair. Call, but of course they are closed. Call on Monday, get apology for forgetting, but can't get one to me because they have no deliveries to our resort until Thursday. Says she will refund my $12. Called me on Friday night to confirm Saturday pickup at 8 and asked us to charge battery overnight as they need to deliver it straight off Saturday morning to a new customer. Ok. So at 6:45 AM, my phone rings (wakes up a room full of people) and wants to know if we can get up from a dead sleep, dress, and have the scooter at drop-off place, which is not that close to our rented unit, in 15 MINUTES because they are OVERBOOKED. How is this my problem? Why didn't they rent a UHaul when their truck broke down? Why didn't someone go the extra mile and deliver the cup holder they forgot to include? Why do they expect the customer to go to all these extra lengths, yet they go to none of their own? We will not be using Yellow Scooters on any of our return visits. We will find a more customer friendly rental service in the future. One who shows appreciation for my TIME & $$$.
Linda was just brilliant. So helpful and especially to me after I suffered an unfortunate heart attack whilst on holiday there and she extended my hire of my scooter over the phone no trouble at all. The scooter I had was a dual battery one so not only was it quick it lasted for ages too! Nothing was ever too much trouble for her, I can't recommend this place enough 10/10 from me.
I could not have been more pleased with my scooter rental experience from Yellow Scooters. It was waiting for me when I checked in to my hotel, charged and ready to roll...boy that thing was zippy! I zipped all around for a while but ended up having a problem, it would stop and go and then stopped. It was after 5, but I left a message and received a prompt call back within minutes. We could not figure out the issue by phone, so it was promised a new one would be delivered early the next morning. They were there before the appointed time, and the local guy that brought it, Ray, made sure I had his phone number should I have any issue. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I highly recommend them if you are renting in Orlando. That scooter sure saved my knees in a big convention hotel, that I'd never have been able to do the level of walking that would have been necessary. Thanks Yellow Scooters! You were awesome!
Rented 2 Scooters and upon arriving at the theme park it goes completely dead when we entered. We begged the staff to charge it for 2 hours. Go back and get it and it only stayed charged for less than 10 mins. Had to push the scooter all the way back to the car. They brought another one the following morning which worked fine. It’s been a week and no one has called me back. I’ll dispute the charge next week since this is horrible service and didn’t get a chance to use it the first day. I refuse to pay for something that We didn’t have the opportunity to use. Unfortunately you can’t dispute partial payment but I’ll take the matters into my own hands since they don’t want to respond.
